Fran Halliwell, International Office

We were privileged to have had the company of Fran Halliwell, Senior International Officer of the International Office at the University of Manchester at the Alumni Get-Together on 11th March 2010. Fran also gave us the opportunity to help out at the Education UK Exhibition organised by the British Council on 13th March where we met numerous prospective students and helped address any queries they might have.

The alumni was pleased to organise a dinner at the Jim Thompson: A Thai Restaurant with visiting faculty from the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science - Professor Mike Sutcliffe, Head of the School; Professor Andrew Masters, Head of Teaching; and Dr Alistair Martin, Senior Lecturer - to share ideas on how the University and the alumni could work together.

The alumni has had the opportunity to help out with the University of Manchester's pre-departure drive and the CATS Recruit Scholars' Choice 2009 Scholarship and University Fair organised for prospective university students. During this period, we have had the pleasure of organising dinner and drinks with Mike Gibbons, Deputy Director & Head of International Recruitment, to discuss further collaboration between the alumni and the University's International Office.
