manchester_day_2019_banner.jpg

Manchester Day is an annual event that celebrates everything great about the city. It is a day for families, residents and visitors to get together and celebrate all things Mancunian that have made Manchester one of the world’s most iconic cities.

We’re doing it again this year and this time we want combine it with the University’s third strategic goal: Social Responsibility

For this year’s Manchester Day, we will be part of Team Nila to help Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) on their Sports Day, as CDAC helps the less privileged in the community to maximise their potential and strive for social mobility through self-help and mutual support.

For this event, we will need around 20 or more volunteers to assist in basic sport tryout (like modified bowling, archery tag) and/or treasure hunt.

Join us for our Manchester Day of Action and give back to our community!

Kindly sign up by 18 June to let us do necessary arrangement. An Event Tee will be issued to each volunteer.

Event Report - "Entrepreneurship - What Works?"

The University of Manchester Alumni Association of Singapore (UoMAAS) Entrepreneurship and Networking event on 19th Oct 2016 at Manchester Business School premise was another successful one! The panel discussion "Entrepreneurship - What Works" saw alumni and veterans from the industry share their personal experiences and give tips to budding and new entrepreneurs.

We had the honour of having Mr Bill Liu, Charlie Ang, Sunil Rai and Wayne Soo sharing their experiences in a panel, which was moderated by committee member, Fabien Chen. Discussion topics ranged from ways to conceptualise an idea, to intellectual property issues surrounding an invention, and ways to become a successful entrepreneur. With attendance of close to 50 alumni attending the session, it was a successful networking event, with the interaction and mingling following thereafter.

The panel session discussion can also be viewed on our alumni association YouTube channel HERE

This event was also organised to coincide with the launch of our UoMAAS's revamped membership pack, filled with exciting privileges for members of the alumni!

SIGN-UP now for our annual membership and enjoy all the subsidised rates at UoMAAS's events all year round, and also exclusive discounts from our merchant partners!
